"You don't know what your missing...

If you aren't in the kitchen!"

That's the closing tagline at the end puppet segments of Cartoon Network's show "Chowder" created by the talented C. H. Greenblatt. He's worked on both SpongeBob Squarepants and The Grim Adv. of Billy and Mandy as a storyboard artist as well as the voice of Fred Fredburger on Grim Adv. Chowder is one of those rare shows that works on a level that can be enjoyed by adults and kids. The story centers on an expert chef named Mung Daal and his young apprentice Chowder. All the characters have food themed names and the episodes usually involve a decidedly bizarre recipe being created to advance the plot. Don't like food? Well don't let that stop you, the show's style is refreshingly original, hip, and visually rich. It can get a little gross at times but don't fear (it's no Ren & Stimpy of Bevis and Butthead) it's all in the quirky spirit of fun. The writing is equally well done and there is a wonderful blend of innocence and weirdness in every episode that elevates the comedy to a higher level. It's one of my favorite animations to come out in a long time and my son loves it as well. You should check it out if your able, the show's first DVD just came out recently and I was able to pick it up for $9.99. Plus you can find it on Cartoon Network on Sundays.

Watch it, love it, share it!
